- HIPAA Verification – Date of Birth and Address

Workflows
Important: Special workflow for New Hires Not Yet in the System: If a call is received from an EE, who is not yet in HRally, the Counselor should create an issue for Lauren Megill to confirm eligibility. Lauren will then confirm with ERMCO. The Counselor will then receive a ticket back to do outreach.
Eligibility

All active Full-Time Employees are eligible to enroll in benefits. When electing coverage for themselves, they may also cover their eligible dependents.
Eligible dependents include:
- Legal Spouse, unless you are legally separated or divorced
- Natural Children, Step-Children, Legally Adopted Children, and any other children for whom the Employee has legal guardianship
Important Dates:
New Hires
- Enrollment Period: 30 Days from their Date of Hire
- Effective Date of Coverage: 1st Day of Employment
- Dependent Verification: Documents are required to be submitted within 15 days of enrollment.
Qualifying Life Events: Benefits elected or waived during a new hire event, or during annual open enrollment will remain in effect through the full calendar year unless there is a qualifying event as defined by the IRS.
- Must be Reported: Within 30 days of the Date of the Event
- Coverage will Begin: The Date of the Event
- Verification: Due Within 30 Days of the Event
Coverage Termination:
- Terminated Employees: Coverage will end the Date of Termination
- Dependent Age-Out: End of the Month following the 26th Birthday
Spousal Surcharge
Spousal Surcharge: Applies if a Spouse declines Employer group coverage to be on ERMCO’s plan.
- Non-Union Employees: A Spousal Surcharge of 1.5x the monthly premium applies if the non-Union Employee’s Spouse declines their Employer Group Coverage to be on ERMCO’s plan.
- Union Employees: A Spousal Surcharge of $25 per week applies if the Union Employee’s Spouse declines their Employer Group Coverage to be on ERMCO’s plan.
Union Employees
There are some slight differences we need to be aware of regarding the Union population.
Opt-Out Credits
- All Union Employees who waive the ERMCO Health Plans will receive an Opt-Out credit of $50 per week, provided they attest on the portal that they have coverage elsewhere, and not from the marketplace.
Dental Rates
- Union Employees will see slightly different Dental Rates.
